cTv, At Point Arena wonder dog Kaliki goes for it… (aka DIRTY DOG!)

Prior to owning our RV, we traveled North to Point Arena to enjoy the rural ocean scenery with our Siberian Husky, Kaliki, who discovered formidable burrowing gopher holes.  We all got our money’s worth going down to the Greenwood State Beach  in the sleepy city of Elk.  Next we will check out Bowling Ball Beach and the Point Arena Lighthouse.

cTv, Samuel P Taylor State Park #2,, Hiking, History, Play deep in the Redwoods

Here we go again on day 2 at lovely Samuel P Taylor State Park – hiking trail, learning about the park’s history and predecessors, plus playing in the beautiful redwoods.  While we were fortunate to stay at the park during non-peak days (Sunday and Monday night) at the end of summer when schools were back in session, the park, river and redwoods are always worth admiring.

cTv, Samuel P Taylor, Cool Camping RVLife, Cooking, Sleeping in Redwoods

Samuel P. Taylor Redwoods, camping by a running stream your dog loves, easy cooking by the fire, tucking in to sleep – these are a few of our favorite things.  Glamping RVLife ain’t half bad.

cTv Drone Flyover, Point Reyes Station, Charming Tourist Destination

With some drone shots from above, we enjoy a midday stop-shop-and-lunch at rural tourist destination Point Reyes Station where Prince Charles and Camilla visited on their honeymoon tour.  When you’re in the area of the Point Reyes National Seashore and Samuel P Taylor redwoods, this charming city is a fun place to checkout their shops and have a delicious meal with cool nearby ocean temperatures. Autos, campers and the RVers in the area can also “fill ‘er up” if they don’t mind the premium prices.

cTv, Puppet Show – RV Drive to Drakes Beach, Point Reyes National Seashore

Before going to the redwoods at Samuel P Taylor State Park, we head West in our RV to Drakes Bay in the splendid Point Reyes National Seashore. Historically speaking, Sir Francis Drake championed England’s effort to find riches in the Pacific.  Fortunately at the end of summer, our weather temperatures are perfect and the wind was almost nil.  Too bad we can’t fly our drone to share some aerial footage but the National Parks prohibit flight even if no one is around.  We will have some drone flight in the next episode while we visit the city of Point Reyes, one of the honeymoon stops for Prince Charles and Camilla.

cTv, Riding the Rails, Roaring Camp Steam Train, Henry Cowell Park, Felton

At last, cTv (California Travel Videos) hops aboard the steam train at Roaring Camp in the Henry Cowell State Park (between Santa Cruz and Felton, California).  While the redwood grove was revered by lumberjacks to provide the best possible wood to build homes, fortunately the Cowell family bought a large tract of land as a preserve.  We dedicate this video to Frank B Lamoly, town Marshall at Roaring Camp for 50 years.

cTv, Playing Deep in the Redwoods, Henry Cowell State Park

Time to checkout the super tall, super old redwoods (one hundred million CENTURIES old) in Henry Cowell park.  Missed Bigfoot center but our Siberian Husky Kaliki scored water play in the running river.  Next up, we will walk over to the Roaring Camp village and hop aboard the steam train.

cTv, Could this be Bigfoot at Henry Cowell State Park among the redwoods?

Do you believe in the Bigfoot?  Near Santa Cruz, the Henry Cowell State Park is well known for its soaring redwood trees approaching 300 feet high.  So in addition to being located near the Pacific Ocean and sheltered from the sun, this sanctuary makes an ideal getaway for travelers, be it RV, tent or ala-natural.  And who knows what you’ll see deep in the forest…
