On Part 3 of our sojourn with the Escapees Xscapers 2018 Bash convergence, we left the boondocks for the day to head into nearby Quartzsite Arizona. Grace loves to get craft beads at huge discount prices in the huge Gem World store while I refresh our rig – dumping and refilling tanks. We had a blast taking a spin with our neighbor Brad and Carolyn RadPower electric bikes (gotta’ buy two!) In the evening, we enjoyed a delicious potluck dinner with other Xscapers, followed by awesome 1970s type music by the Status Crows duet. Afterwards, we went out for a nighttime photography session, doing foreground cactus light painting with the Milky Way stars in the background. Turns out the only thing in short supply are the hours of the day and night – so much to do, so little time…
As we continue our Quartzsite Xscapers Bash 2018 convergence, we are treated to another hot air balloon setup and takeoff before heading out to the famous Desert Bar (4 mile, 30 minute) slow off road ride that’s worth every minute of the trip! Local bands like the “Most Wanted” made it a particularly enjoyable day.
Arriving at Quartzsite Arizona for the Escapees Xscapers Bash 2018 convergence rally, Travis and Melanie Travis gave a warm introductory welcome to 200+ RVers, along with Xscapers Convergence Director JP Smith, Social Media guru Georgianne Austin, Marketing Strategist David Goldstein
Arriving at the Burbank Elks lodge – can’t beat the hospitality with a free drink and $15/night! Discovered a most unusual “job opportunity” – TOPLESS cleaning service! (are men eligible?) Then over to Blythe Oasis RV Park as the sun set, with morning drone video over the Colorado River before heading into Quartzsite for the Escapees Xscapers Bash 2018 for fun and games. Stay tuned..
Here’s our secret steps to successfully install your new microwave oven (and discover a few gotchas along the way). So with our RV microwave oven successfully removed (WHEW), it’s time to begin the installation process. First we remove the built-in oven from the case and housing, then make “adjustments” to adapt the new Panasonic microwave oven to (hopefully) fit the old frame chassis and external case. But wait, there’s more! Finally, it’s time to remount the housed microwave oven assembly back in the RV, connect power, figure out what to do with the wires that formerly went to the fans and hood lights, etc, etc. And what could possibly go wrong with the installation, you ask? Stay tuned for more California Travel Videos fun!
Okay, no one enjoys hacking their beloved RV apart in hopes to make life better. But can removing a RV microwave be all that difficult? What could possibly go wrong? Well, I ran into enough challenges to segment the removal and replacement into two shows! So before you tackle RV repairs on your own, check out Part 1 of this video with your eyes wide open prior to tearing apart your beloved RV!

From August 12th to August 19th we had the privilege of being in the company of 14 Rotarian’s riding their bikes from Crescent City California all the way to Petaluma. The journey would take us over 300 miles and would take 6 days. The dedicated cadre of Rotarian bike riders, as well as those who followed in the SAG wagons had a common goal,”End Polio Now!” The money raised was matched 2:1 by fellow Rotarians, Bill and Melinda Gates. On Days 5&6 other riders joined us and more than 30 rode into the finish line in Petaluma. We proudly share some of the insights of this ride with you in the following videos. We will also include the highlights video that has been posted on the Petaluma Rotary channel.
