Alaska Travel Guide, Top Planning Tips you MUST KNOW

Alaska travel – everyone’s dream… or it should be! And while our appetite was whetted taking an 11 day cruise ship tour, with a State the size 10-20 in the “lower 48” certainly takes more time to do it justice. In our cTV California Travel show, we share our Alaska travel lessons learned from our RV Alaska pros – Pau Hana Travels (Gary & Stacey) and Landmark Adventures (David & Cheryl).[embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHF9HNNUa0g[/embedyt]

Quartzsite Xscapers Bash 2018 #3, Shopping, Fireside Songs, Night Photos

On Part 3 of our sojourn with the Escapees Xscapers 2018 Bash convergence, we left the boondocks for the day to head into nearby Quartzsite Arizona. Grace loves to get craft beads at huge discount prices in the huge Gem World store while I refresh our rig – dumping and refilling tanks. We had a blast taking a spin with our neighbor Brad and Carolyn RadPower electric bikes (gotta’ buy two!) In the evening, we enjoyed a delicious potluck dinner with other Xscapers, followed by awesome 1970s type music by the Status Crows duet. Afterwards, we went out for a nighttime photography session, doing foreground cactus light painting with the Milky Way stars in the background. Turns out the only thing in short supply are the hours of the day and night – so much to do, so little time…

cTv RV Life, Secrets to Successful Microwave Oven Replacement, Part 2

Here’s our secret steps to successfully install your new microwave oven (and discover a few gotchas along the way). So with our RV microwave oven successfully removed (WHEW), it’s time to begin the installation process. First we remove the built-in oven from the case and housing, then make “adjustments” to adapt the new Panasonic microwave oven to (hopefully) fit the old frame chassis and external case. But wait, there’s more! Finally, it’s time to remount the housed microwave oven assembly back in the RV, connect power, figure out what to do with the wires that formerly went to the fans and hood lights, etc, etc. And what could possibly go wrong with the installation, you ask? Stay tuned for more California Travel Videos fun!

Pedal for Polio – District 5130 Rotarians

From August 12th to August 19th we had the privilege of being in the company of 14 Rotarian’s riding their bikes from Crescent City  California all the way to Petaluma.  The journey would take us over 300 miles and would take 6 days.  The dedicated cadre of Rotarian bike riders, as well as those who followed in the SAG wagons had a common goal,”End Polio Now!”  The money raised was matched 2:1 by fellow Rotarians, Bill and Melinda Gates.  On Days 5&6 other riders joined us and more than 30 rode into the finish line in Petaluma.  We proudly share some of the insights of this ride with you in the following videos.  We will also include the highlights video that has been posted on the Petaluma Rotary channel.
